My Music School =)*

Of course is not like This music schools of films ilke "Rock School", "Un paso adelante", "Hight School Musical" etc.. but it is a place where I spend a lot of my time since I was 7 years old.

The music school it's an entity of Casino Menetral Figuerenc. It is one of the oldest entities in Catalonia in operation, dates from 1856. The initiative of the founding of the Casino Menestral was the concerns of a group of figuerencs wanted to build on the one hand, a literary society that would encourage it lustration and recreation of the associated through conferences, lectures and meetings. At the appointed "Menestral", it wanted to integrate the majority of society in Figueres within their various activities.

Since 1906 until 1936, the entity experienced a process of constant expansion that was estroncat with the Spanish Civil War. The effects of the war were felt at the Casino Menestral with a substantial reduction in the number of partners and with a consequent reduction in the activities of the different sections. The effects but more harsh and direct conflict took place at the beginning of February 1939, when twelve bombs exploded near the building and caused significant material damage, as well as the ensuing looting furniture, library and archiving.

It won be until the year 1956, we can talk about the recovery in the number of partners, who arrived almost two thousand. Also around of this year, were the first attempts at cultural normalization materialized with the reopening of the Music School, the organization of the Festival of Poetry, for example. Fruit of its rich social and cultural history, the institution retains the ritual, premiered by the Nobel Prize for Literature Frederic Mistral, in the Book of signature d'Oro Menestral Casino. Dentro'd these dedications highlighted by Francesc Macià Lluís Companys, Josep Tarradellas, Jordi Pujol or when Pasqual Maragall was mayor of Barcelona and also of others like Jose Luis Lopez Aranguren, Albert Boadella, Victor Castellano, Pompeu Fabra, Francesc Layret, Alejandro Lerroux, Lluís Millet, Francesc Pino y Margall and Josep Maria de Sagarra among others. And in 2004 received "La Creu de Sant Jordi" very important for the poblation of Figueres. The music is a part of the activities taking place. There is also the association of chess, scursionist, philately, political conferences, meetings variety, drama, literature, the orchestra JOV (Jove Orquestra Versatile) ...

I really enjoy this entity. Headrquarters it's in construction because it was very old. It's in the street where the store "Tomy" and "Zara for men." The interim headquarters was in the school of Nuns of Sant Vicenç Paül during a course and is now in the old Court in Figueres. We are like nomads, jeje. But the truth is that the quality of teachers and staff is great. We are like a big family, most people we know and carry a lifetime there. We have seen, mourn, laugh, get older, mature, sick, recover, in short, brilliant.
